Initial meetings for the Sundance Athletic Club started up in January 1905 in W. L. Nettelhorst's office. By February, the Sundance Athletic Club organization had established a constitution, by-laws and collected contributions from members for the construction of a club room. List of officers include H. O. Alden, president; G. W. Lytle, vice-president; W. L. Nettelhorst, secretary; W. R. Fox, treasurer and R. A. McDonald as board member. The location of the Sundance Athletic Club was behing the Post Office building and had a formal opening March 21, 1905 after construction was completed. William Rode was the janitor at the Sundance Athletic Club in 1906. In March 1907, the Fordyce Brothers from Fort Collins, CO. install three pool tables in the rear of the post office building as the Sundance Athletic Club comes to an end. Charley Emig broke the bowling record with a 204 game on April 17, 1907. |
