Factoids: Fred Oudin leases the C. D. Roberts hardware store building in December 1937 and his workmen were building the bowling alley by March 1938 and had it far enough along to open it in April.
"The Club" and the Recreation Parlor officially opened on December 4, 1938.
Charles H Ernst was the owner/manager of the lanes per the 1939-40 Ives Business Directory.
Charles Ernst also owned the Elk Horn Cafe & Market as well as the Turf Bar and Ray's Cafe building.
Vincent Jefferson was known to have worked at both the Elk Horn Cafe and Club bowling alleys in 1941.
Joe Allread took over management of the Recreation Parlor and Bowling Alley on Feb 1, 1941.
Reference to Joe's Recreation Parlor and Bowling Alley in a May 1944 advertisement.
Joe Allread moves his Recreation Parlor to Main Street in the building formerly owned by Duke's Bar in August 1945.
M. D. Cheshier purchases the bowling alley building and starts the Sundance Electric business selling and servicing home appliances in Jan 1946 but moves the business to Main Street in Oct 1946.
In October 1946, the bowling lanes and equipment were moved to Provo, South Dakota.
The Marshall-Wells Stores occupy the bowling alley building in the 1950s.
Charles H Ernst dies from a heart attack on March 11, 1956 in Chicago.
